Dream it.
Think of your website as providing an experience to your customers rather than information.
Visual sitemap
Prepare a sitemap for your website. A sitemap is the layout of your website, pages, contents, and the relationships between them. Later, we can prepare an SEO-friendly sitemap for your site to be “discovered” by the search engines.
Wireframe
Prepare a wireframe showcasing how the pages should look. A wireframe is a blueprint of your website pages to help you and the website developers visualize the layout and the components of the website you're building.
Reference sites
Prepare a list of reference websites to communicate your idea in context to your sitemap and wireframe.
Theme (or Branding)
Think of the colors and fonts to use for your website. Our recommendation is not to go beyond three colors scheme. Make sure the colors are complementing each other. The font must be simple (a.k.a standard) and yet stand out (other visual elements of the site will help the font stand out).
Contents
wireframe before engaging any website development company. It does not have to be perfect, but a draft would be great. Make sure your content is direct and straightforward for someone to understand without ambiguity. Deliver your message for your customers in no more than four sentences.
Images
The selection of images adds the required “pop” to your website. They must be relevant to your message and display confidence. Make sure the photos are vibrant and bright. If you need stock images, shortlist them on the respective stock image website (do not buy them yet).
Discovery call
When you have a discovery call with a web development company representative, keep this information readily available to make them understand your requirements, and provide you a better quote.
